INKspired Sketch Challenge 117 - Prized Peony

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to my blog and the new sketch challenge created by Teneale Williams.

You may have hopped across from Katrina Healy and enjoyed her lovely creative designs.

When I saw Teneale's sketch challenge, I saw diamonds and peonies!  What, how could I envision that! Not sure how, but the Diamonds embossing folder and the brass foil sheets along with the Prized Peony Stamp Set (SS) and Peony dies filled my thoughts to create my card.

I started with a card base of Petal Pink and topped it with one of the beautiful designs from the Peony Garden designer series papers (DSP) in Grey Granite and white. As the SS and DSP have an elegance to them, the diamond embossed brass foil sheets and square vellum doilies just had to accompany.

Then I used the Peony dies and layered the petal pieces to create the 3D flower. I chose to use vellum sponged with Petal Pink ink to make my flower, and the same for the leaves (sponged in Pear Pizzazz). I backed the leaves and finished flower with Whisper White card stock - die cut each leaf and the large flower back. Last but not least, I used Bumblebee ink to sponge the stamen.

The Peony is placed on with dimensionals, and the leaves are glued and tucked under the flower. I chose to use part of one of the sentiments from the Prized Peony SS, not too much and not too little.

I added a few of the Elegant Faceted Gems and just one Gilded Gem to highlight the colours and the brass foil, and of course to add a bit of bling!

One of the best results is when your husband says that's a beauty and he is glad you bought that SS. What more can you say! Well, I can say that I will be using this SS, dies and accompaniments over and over!

Thank you and I really hope you enjoyed my blog and card, but now it's time to hop over to the talented Narelle Macey.
